Claude Dorais, co-founder of Unite-to-Light, shares an update on the remarkable progress Unite-to-Light is making in developing countries where access to the electrical grid is simply not available. Health, education, safety and more relies on the availability of light in the fight against poverty. 1.6 billion people, over one fifth of the world, do not have electricity, and a billion more only have intermittent, unreliable access: no heat, no light by which to read or study, no light for medicine, only substitutes that are health and life hazards.
Hear how you can help change that through a remarkably simple product, a solar powered LED lamp, that also helps build business for those living in poverty. Women, the world over, are able to help change impoverished communities and families by distributing these LED lamps. Click here to read more on our Socially Conscious blog about how you can make a difference and why light is a critical component of lifting people from extreme poverty.
A most enLIGHTening episode! Sure expanded my concept of investing.
Very interesting ideas for uplifting women and thus societies around the world!
I am finding that the newly organized Womens Radio site is much easier to follow.
And, there is so much to learn here!
