[HTML1] Sarah Craven is the Chief of the Washington Office of the United Nations Population Fund. The United Nations Population Fund is an international development agency that promotes the right of every woman, every man and child to enjoy a life of health and equal opportunity. It supports policies to reduce poverty and to ensure that every pregnancy is wanted, every birth is safe, every young person is free of HIV, and every girl and woman is treated with dignity and respect.
In her current role as Chief of the United Nations Population Fund’s Washington DC office, Ms. Craven carries out the organization’s mission to improve and save women’s lives. While her day-to-day work is often fraught with political landmines, Sarah says, “The reality of women’s lives keeps me going.” Wow! what a statement!
And the big news is: that Sarah Craven along with Congresswoman Barbara Lee, and Tracy Henke of Thomas Advisors will be honored at PLENS’ 2011 Mentor Awards in Washington on Thursday, February 24th! Interviewer Al Cole recently had Pamela O-Leary, Executive Director of PLEN on his show People of Distinction, and has been invited to attend the Mentor Awards as well! And really looking forward to it!
