[HTML1]Mikko Nissinen, the masterful Artistic Director of Boston Ballet and Boston Ballet School is interviewed by Al Cole of Cole & Noble present People of Distinction.
Since becoming the Artistic Director of Boston Ballet, audiences and critics have noted the Company’s remarkable development under Nissinen’s regime. The New York Times stated “Boston Ballet has come a vast distance. Its dancers are striking by national and international standards”. The Boston Globe called Boston Ballet’s transformation one of the “biggest arts stories of the decade”.
And here’s a wonderful & highly cultural coincidence. Mikko Nissinen directed the Marin Ballet in San Rafael, California from 1996-1998. A few years before that Pat Lynch, CEO of WomensRadio, served on the board of the Fresno Ballet where she helped to raise funds to produce the first new Nutcracker in over 20 years. Nissinen’s own choreography includes productions of Swan Lake, and an award winning The Nutcracker of his own!
Gotta keep the culture in the family as Boston Ballet’s Mikko Nissinen performs proudly on the Cole & Noble stage!
