People are dying with loose ends.
Mari-Lyn Harris is an end-of-life doula and most of her work is with baby boomers, helping them tie up their loose ends, most especially retirement, thereby protecting their loved ones in the untimely event of their death. Across the U.S., 78 million baby boomers are turning 65, but only 36% of them have taken the time to write out their wishes. 7 out of 10 patients entered into hospice too late. 9 out of 10 people want to be home if diagnosed with a terminal dis-ease. However, a shortage of caregivers is looming, and predictions are that it is only going to get worse. Mari-Lyn explains what an End-of-Life Doula can help to accomplish, from helping loved ones by tackling issues and information that could get lost otherwise, and also making their own wishes for end-of-life care known, which points to the importance of a Legacy Planner.
