Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #370 was recorded in October 2019 at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, MA, and features Mariam Massaro and Bob Sherwood of the Gaea Star Band with Mariam on vocals, ukeleles, acoustic guitar, native flute and harmonica and Bob on piano and congas. Today’s show begins with the minimalist native chant “We’re Gonna Be All Right” featuring lyrical native flute from Mariam and a driving conga part from Bob. “Blessed By Light” part Two moves into completely different territory led by Mariam’s chiming acoustic guitar and Bob’s lilting piano lines. This lovely, swirling song is followed by “October Colors” is a lush, cascading piece featuring a compelling visionary lyric from Mariam backed by overdubbed harmony and percussion. “May We Slowly Slip Into Peace” is a pretty, echoing, gentle song with a gorgeous and deeply felt vocal from Mariam and “Let’s Hold It Together For Mother Nature” is a jazzy, afrocuban groove with driving piano from Bob and a message of change from Mariam. “Make The Best” is a classic from Mariam, a beautifully simple folk song with a profound message. “Shamiyaya” is a fine Hawaiian-reggae hybrid from Mariam, a classic song driven by Mariam’s ukulele and lyrical piano from Bob.
