Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #338 was recorded live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts on a cold January day and features live visionary improvisation from the Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, native flute, ukulele, acoustic guitar and celtic harp, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on native drums and congas. We begin today with the relaxed, pastoral “Oh Starry Night”, a lush ballad driven by Mariam’s gorgeous vocals and acoustic guitar. “It’s Time to Change For The Better” is an inspiring prayer for change with a driving groove and “The Lake Of Love” is a lush and floating piece with beautiful native flute from Mariam and relaxed, meditative piano from Bob. “May The Goddess Prevail” is a gospel-tinged improv with a characteristically fine vocal from Mariam and a driving conga groove from Craig and “Into The Night We Sail” is a showcase for Mariam’s lyrical native flute. Mariam picks up her tenor ukulele for the somber minor ballad “Hello To The Light Again”, a mystical piece full of harmonic interest. We finish today with the epic, multi-movement “For Sure I Know We’ll Get It Right”, an ambitious song of social justice that runs the gamut from funky jazz to classical to visionary without missing a beat.
Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour with Mariam Massaro can be heard on Dreamvisions 7 Radio Network.
