It’s no secret that a lot of emotion has been unleashed following Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony that she was assaulted by Brett Kavanaugh. No matter what one’s opinion or political persuasion, everyone can agree upon the fact that this spurred a lot of anger. Whether it’s anger at a patriarchal system that suppresses women’s voices, anger that women (or men) can sometimes accuse another without basis or for gain, or even anger at our own divided political system, everybody can agree that we are angry.
And what’s worse, when one situation provokes our anger, the unresolved anger in other areas of our life tends to surface, making us all even angrier! So the relevant question becomes, what do we do with all this anger?
Join Lora, as she and Sheri Carter-Godfrey, a Canadian expert who helps angry, divorcing parents set up co-parenting plans that are in the best interest in the child, as well as themselves, discuss ways to channel that anger for good. Like a bad divorce, how can we in the US make sure we don’t fall into bitterness, hatred and revenge?
Righteous anger is one of the strongest, and most powerful fuels around. Let’s use that fuel for good, to create bridges, to heal both victim and perpetrator, and to create a better world for all.
