Gaea Star Crystal #322 was recorded in late August at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington Massachusetts and features the Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, native flute, celtic harp, acoustic guitar, 12-string acoustic guitar and 4- and 8-string ukuleles, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on congas and native drums. Today’s first number is the languid, summery folk song “Beyond The Richness Of The Night”, featuring a fine vocal from Mariam and imaginative piano from Bob. “Oh The Moon’s Sacred Space” is a mystical, autumnal improvisation driven by Craig’s native drum and Mariam’s visionary improvised lyric. “Oh She’s Casting Rays” is another lovely improvisation driven by Mariam’s lush vocal and chiming acoustic guitar and “Can You Touch Your Dreams?” is a minor folk ballad built around Mariam’s languid 12-string acoustic guitar. “Savor Every Moment” is a formally-structured, Beatlesque ballad featuring lush piano from Bob and featuring Celtic harp and 8-string ukulele from Mariam. “Heart Of The River” closes the show with an earthy, native vibe provided by Mariam’s lyrical native flute and Craig’s fundamental drumming.
