Today on Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #312 we welcome special guests bassist Gustavo Altiplano and Bill Sherman on shakers. Recorded at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts on a warm mid-June day, today’s show also features the Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, acoustic guitar, harp and native flute, Craig Harris on congas and Bob Sherwood on piano. We begin with Mariam’s summer theme “Summer Solstice Sunshine”, a galloping, jazzy piece with fine bass from Gustavo. “Fireflies” is a lush, elegiac piece with a gospel piano motif from Bob to support Mariam’s evocative lyric. “May Great Fortune Bestow You” is a compelling, grooving song with imaginative walking bass from Carlos, a fine vocal from Mariam and intricate, basket-weaving piano from Bob. “Remembering Your Journey To Paradise” is a driving, native groove led by Mariam’s native flute and Carlos’ innovative bass work, and “Welcome Enoah In The Forest” commemorates Mariam’s midwifery at an outdoor birth in the forest with a lush, gentle sway.
