Women’s Equality Day is on Saturday, August 26th, 2017, which is a very special day for all women because it commemorates the 1920 adoption of the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, which prohibits the states and the federal government from denying the right to vote to citizens of the United States on the basis of sex. Donna Lent is a life-long supporter of women’s rights and serves as the President of the National Women’s Political Caucus (NWPC), a grassroots organization dedicated to recruiting, training, and electing pro-choice women candidates. Donna joins Speak Up! to share what Women’s Equality Day means to her and how the National Women’s Political Caucus encourages and promotes women in politics.
