Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #273 was recorded on a warm, rainy day at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington MA and features the Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, native flute, chorango, acoustic guitar and ukulele, Craig Harris on congas and Bob Sherwood on piano. Guests today include Sondra Lewis on vocals and Dave Davenport on fretless bass. We begin with the languid “Oh The Rain”, a three-way conversation between Mariam, Sondra and Mariam’s lyrical native flute. “Bring In The Beauty” features Mariam’s chiming acoustic guitar and fine rhythm from Craig with Sondra on shaker and “Have You Ever Wondered” is a meditative ballad with visionary lyrics from Mariam and lovely harmonic interjections from Sondra. “Carry Me Inside You Heart” is a sweeping, romantic improvisation with an impassioned vocal from Mariam and lyrical fretless from Dave. “Alohahey” and “Pele” are gems from the Hawaiian Islands with fine vocal work from Mariam and Sondra.
