Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #267 is an hour of improvised acoustic music and songs by Mariam Massaro, played live by the Gaea Star Band with Mariam on vocals, celtic harp, native flute, acoustic guitar and ukulele, Craig Harris on congas, drums and balaphone and Bob Sherwood on piano. Today’s show begins with the folk strains of “Heyo To The Golden Summer”, a blissful evocation of summer featuring an inspired visionary lyric from Mariam and sprightly rhythm from Craig and Bob. The lush, contemplative “Tupalsan Heyo” is a deeply mystical and beautiful evocation of the morning punctuated by Mariam’s evocative native flute. The band steers directly into the jazzy and rhythmically inventive “Rise Above”, slowly arriving at a driving climax before drifting away in clouds of piano and flute. Following the break is a stately, spacious take of “Spirit Of Fire” a lovely track from Mariam’s “Vision Quest” album. From here we drift straight into the atmospheric ballad “Memories” and finally to a dreamy interpretation of the lovely “Sail On”, another track from “Vision Quest”.
Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour can be heard on Dreamvisions 7 Radio Network.
