The Making of a Gang Leader

Tay Ramey was formerly a gang leader overseeing about 20,000 gang members and orchestrated what the FBI described as a “multi-state drug empire.” He’s now serving a life sentence, finishing his first semester of college, working a job assembling garments and coauthoring a three book crime-thriller-romance series based loosely on his life with Kim Whiting. In his spare time he also teaches Swahili and at times coaches the prison softball and football teams.
Kim Whiting, MA, MBA, was formerly a psychotherapist specializing in youth and survivors of abuse. She has now teamed-up with former criminals/gang leaders to create media that opens eyes, minds and hearts to the issues that fuel a trajectory into criminal life and the elements that facilitate healing and transition into a life that is happier, more fulfilling and positively contributing.
