Local Food is the Best Food

More than ever, there is a larger need to focus on locally sourced foods and resources.  In Fallon, Nevada something called “Local Foods, Local Places” is about to emerge in order to get people on one side of the town, without grocery stores and without public transportation, to larger grocers in other parts of the town.  Helping to make this happen is Rachel Dahl with the Churchill County Economic Development Authority.  Rachel joins Food Facts to talk more about the importance of making local foods much more accessible to people everywhere.

David Barrett, CTO and CFO of Women’s Online Media and Education Network (W.O.M.E.N.), including WomensCalendar, WomensRadio and AudioAcrobat – responsible for subscriber accounts and support; in-house database maintenance, and administration.

Mr. Barrett earned his MBA at the American Graduate School of International Management, in Phoenix Arizona in 1976. He served as one of the youngest Vice Presidents of Underwood, Neuhaus and Company, a Texas-based investment company before starting his own company which specialized in online information services targeted to corporations. Subsequently, David started and successfully managed several businesses using computer technologies involved with databases and publishing content. He currently developed the database back-end and positioned the WomensCalendar as the largest listing of events for non-profit women’s organizations on the Web.

He is also Managing Partner and co-owner of W.O.M.E.N., a company which markets media services to over 1,000 women’s organizations. One of these services is AudioAcrobat which is fast becoming the top service for creating and broadcasting audio content.

Mr. Barrett is also listed in the Nationwide Register’s Who’s Who in Executives and Business.
