Women Healers of the World Author Holly Bellebuono

Herbalist and author Holly Bellebuono directs the award-winning Vineyard Herbs Teas & Apothecary on Martha’s Vineyard and The Bellebuono School of Herbal Medicine, offering training and certification in Community Herbalism. As the author of The Essential Herbal for Natural Health (Shambhala Publishers) and The Authentic Herbal Healer (Balboa Press), Holly is also author of the new WOMEN HEALERS OF THE WORLD: The Traditions, History & Geography of Herbal Medicine, foreword by Rosemary Gladstar (SkyHorse/Helios Press, 2014, hardcover).

Holly spent seven years traveling and interviewing women from all over the globe, and she enjoys sharing their stories, their plights, their fears and their achievements, especially since much of their work is dangerous, restricted, or even threatened. She also recreates the stories of 10 historic women–through centuries and civilizations–and commissioned watercolor artwork to bring their faces to life with artist Tracy Thorp. The book is a colorful celebration of women, herbs, medicine, and startling perseverance.

Beloved as an engaging, supportive and welcoming teacher, Holly accepts students year-round for retreats, workshops, and a 3-Week Intensive offered each summer on the beautiful island of Martha’s Vineyard; a distance program is available for home-study. Enroll at VineyardHerbs.com. Holly’s apothecary is especially renowned for its popular collection of original tea blends which are available retail and wholesale.

With a background in gardening, botany, and natural health, Holly lectures widely on women’s empowerment, natural health, and herbal medicine. An inspiring event speaker, Holly gives vivid presentations at arboreta, universities, and women’s conferences nationally. Originally from Asheville, North Carolina, Holly lives with her family on the lovely New England island of Martha’s Vineyard.
