Dr. Jess Ponting, The Gathering RoadDr. Jess Ponting is a dedicated surfer and an academic who specializes in sustainable tourism for community development around the world. As part of his mission at the SDSU Robert L. Payne School of Tourism and Hospitality Management, he founded the Center for Surf Research and its programs for the world’s first sustainable surf and snow resorts certification and a study abroad program to create a new generation of travel activists with surfing as the medium.
