Perhaps more than any other generation, Gen Y sees volunteerism as very important to their work/life balance. But while the desire is there, not everyone knows how to find opportunities with nonprofits in their communities. Rick joins Keeping Up with Gen Y to discuss why Gen Y volunteers are especially needed in both these difficult economic times and this holiday season, not just on the weekends but on nonprofit boards of directors. He also points out that micro-volunteering, which focuses on small but necessary tasks, might be the answer for busy young people who really want to give back to their communities and the world.
