In this show Dr. Gracer interviews Tia Mowry, actress, and Anisha Malhotra, MD (left), an expert on flu vaccination. Tia Mowry has joined forces with MedImmune, the developer of one of the newer vaccines, FluMist® Quadrivalent, in a campaign which aims to raise awareness about the severity of influenza and the importance of vaccination for the entire family.
This year the flu vaccines are more powerful than previous versions and some do not need an injection for vaccination. This year the Center for Disease Control that everyone over 6 months of age get vaccinated.
Dr. Gracer also reviews some of the newer ways to get vaccinated.

She works with several charities including the Make A Wish Foundation, and Elizabeth Glazer Pediatric AIDS Foundation, and others focusing on research for children fighting cancer. Born in Germany, Tia now lives in Los Angeles with her husband and son.
More about Amisha Malhotra, M.D.: Currently Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Rutgers University – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, in the Division of Pediatric Allergy, Immunology and Infectious Disease.
Her interests include virology- particularly HIV, MRSA infections, immunizations and international travel. She has written and lectured on many of these topics and been featured in local radio, television and magazine interviews.
Dr. Malhotra also enjoys participating in Women in Medicine/Science forums for high school and college students and community health fairs, and is director of the Pediatric AIDS Reach Out and Read Program. Also, with an interest in international health, Dr. Malhotra has organized and participates in medical missions to Kenya, Botswana, South Africa and India with a particular focus on pediatric health care and pediatric HIV. Dr. Malhotra was awarded the Arnold P. Gold award in Humanism for recognition of her volunteer efforts and especially for her work with the New Jersey Search and Rescue Team deployed in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina.
