Richard Akhtar – Running Fiji’s Matava Resort

Richard Akhtar Matava Resort Richard Akhtar runs Matava, a tropical eco-resort in Fiji. His childhood dream of doing a big ‘thing’ came true when he met his partners and they took over the site, where traditional thatched Fijian ‘bures’ nestle on a rainforest hillside.

Elaine caught up with him in San Diego’s Studio Diner and he speaks about the Fijian people, local sources and the resident Manta Rays who frequent the Astrolabe Reef.
