Coming up is Child Sexual Abuse Awareness Month in April. To highlight this important awareness month, WomensRadio is featuring a wonderful organization — Stop the Silence: Stop Child Sexual Abuse. Earlier, this organization’s Founder, Dr. Pamela Pine, was interviewed and you can find a link to her interview below. Today, you will hear an interview with Mark Moseley who is the National Spokesperson for Stop the Silence. Mark was also a former professional American football placekicker in the National Football League (NFL) for the Philadelphia Eagles (in 1970), the Houston Oilers (from 1971-1972), the Washington Redskins (from 1974-1986), and the Cleveland Browns (in 1986). He won the Most Valuable Player Award during the strike-shortened 1982 season–he is the only special teams player and the only placekicker to win this award. Mark joins Speak Up! to talk about how he became involved with Stop the Silence and his role as their Spokesperson. Also, make sure to attend Stop the Silence’s upcoming 10th Annual Race to Stop the Silence on Sunday, April 14th at 9 AM Eastern Time in Washington, D.C. off of Freedom Plaza.
