During my interview, Cris Williamson shared herself in ways that are tender and heartfelt! This conversation was like sitting across from a new friend and just talking about life, experience, values and life’s impact.
It will be 40 years next year that Olivia Records, a recording company was conceived and birthed. Cris was at the conception and speaks of the power of creation that happens when women talk and listen to one another. She has experienced the power of women around a table. Her music is good medicine for everyone and women really understand that.
Cris speaks of her reverence for women, the elderly and shares a saying from the Cheyenne people: “When the hearts of women are on the ground, a nation is finished.”
More about Cris:
Esteemed singer-songwriter Cris Williamson’s album The Changer and the Changed became the soundtrack for a movement. She has championed women’s rights throughout her long and brilliant career and was a key player in fostering the birthday of a new genre of “Women’s Music” for today’s independent female musicians.
