Linda Higdon, founder of the Global Room for Women, shares her experience on how women are empowering one another by simply connecting and sharing their stories. The global women’s movement to grow into their own power and help change the world for better is supported by the simple connection of a voice over the phone.
Women from around the world are able to talk via a unique teleconference system, learn about each other’s local women’s issues and share their curiosity on solutions. Already, thousands of children including young mothers and those experiencing domestic violence have been helped, as well as the individual women who simply needed to be heard when their villages cannot hear.
This powerful solution for women’s issues and for connecting women globally to help one another has had deep and lasting impact in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, South America and Europe and North America. Issues including female genital mutilation, also called female circumcision, domestic violence and pre-teen motherhood, disciplining children and more enter the Global Room for Women for listening and sensitive cultural sharing.
