Vanessa Wood Fan of the FeatherAs a nurse, Vanessa always loved business and after getting her MBA she wanted to do more for others. She and her husband, Lawrence A. Wood, author of Among Pigeons, founded Fan of the Feather to create transitional housing and community services for homeless women vets.They’ve opened their first home and are working to expand services nationwide.

More about Vanessa:

She was a nurse for more than 20 years before enlisting as a Naval officer. Vanessa works tirelessly with Tara Wise, founder of National Military Women Veterans of America, to help relieve PTSD, Military Sexual Trauma and inequality for as many women veterans as possible.
