“Women Today” Recognizes Inspired Women Leaders

[HTML1] To be effective in this world and make an impact, it’s important to care for ourselves, re-energize, share ideas and learn something new each day.  Today we speak with Sulin Rubalcava, the event and marketing manager at Ventura County Star, and with Santino Rice, the fashion designer from the second season of Project Runway.

Ventura County Star newspaper’s annual event, Women Today, celebrates the beauty of women and features educational and entertaining celebrities.  Women Today returns to the Ventura County Fairgrounds for its second year.

The two-day event starts Friday evening, November 11, with the Woman’s Wine Down and singer, song-writer Casey Weston, wine and food.  Saturday, November 12, and Sunday November 13, the event is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and has something for everyone with more than 120 exhibitors.

As a special suprise, Santino Rice will be unveiling a design for one lucky woman who wins it.  Santino creates one-of-a-kind pieces for an exclusive client base.

Santino also has a hit show, On the Road with Austin and Santino, airing world-wide.  The show focuses on the creation of exquisite fashion for people of all ages and shapes.  Santino is a permanent judge on LOGO Network’s hit show RuPaul’s Drag Race.  In addition to his work on TV, he travels around the world and lectures at UCLA, the Art Center and the Fashion Institute.

A “What Women Want” stage, sponsored by St. John’s Hospitals, features beauty experts, fashion and consultants speaking about everything from extreme couponing to car care.  A separate “Cooking School Stage,” sponsored by Pacific Sales includes cooking demonstrations by Bravo’s Top Chef Fabio Viviani and Fox’s Master Chef Adrien Nieto.

Most importantly, the event provides a place for women and their families and friends to get away, have fun and re-energize.  As Santino shares, women tend to nurture others but neglect themselves.  To be effective as a woman, it’s critical to find that inner source of beauty and energy to truly be effective in the world.  Women Today addresses this need.

Complementing the mission of Women Today and the nurturing side of women, proceeds from the event will be given to Food Share, a Ventura County food bank.  The donation will help provide Thanksgiving food for families.

About Robin Eschler

Robin L. Eschler, the founder of Social Impact Marketing, started her career in developing foundational marketing strategies for companies of all sizes, from Fortune 500 to individual entrepreneurs and local businesses. She has developed and implemented international campaigns to launch high tech products and services and guided new business owners to successfully navigate the difficulties of growing a business.

Her life-long passion for helping others led her into nonprofit work for over a decade. Early on, she recognized the need for nonprofits to adapt to a rapidly changing world in which technology dominates and for-profit business practices are central to success. Her determination to help social causes in a sustainable way led to her creation of the Women's Radio show Socially Conscious Investing.

Impact investing in for-profits with a mission of social change such as the fight against extreme poverty is a blossoming business sector around the world. With the economic decline, it's clear that Wall Street requires change. Social impact investing addresses that need in a way that provides financial and social ROI.

As the Host of Socially Conscious Investing on WomensRadio, Robin's goal is to educate people about the growth of social impact investing and social venture. Interviews are conducted with socially conscious business experts including foundations and nonprofits, social venture investment firms, micro-loan organizations, investors, educators, authors and social entrepreneurs.

This show's mission is to help change the world through sustainable business practices that contribute to the economy, combat poverty, end hunger and provide better lives to all.

Twice, Robin has been recognized and received the highest honorary award that Rotary International gives, the Paul Harris Award, for service above self. Her community work has included developing local programs for disadvantaged populations such as foster children, troubled teens, and people with disabilities.
