[HTML1] What are the top trends in fitness? One of the best sources is IDEA Health and Fitness Association and its Editor in Chief, Sandy Todd Webster.
Go as deep inside the insider’s perspective as it’s possible to go as Sandy takes us on a journey through what YOU can expect and how YOU are shaping the fitness trends.
As well, learn of a FREE, new and comprehensive service–IDEA Fitness Connect — that matches qualified trainers to exercisers wanting quality control, high level training, and access to the person or program right for you.
And winners of the title “Top Ten Trends” are doing the following:
- Serving older adults and boomers, who are not going gently into the night (thank goodness, as that includes K and A. We like being trendsetters! );
- Serving more people with chronic disease and pain, much of which has been brought on by the obesity epidemic;
- Educating exercisers more about Nutrition;
- Working with children;
- Evolving Workout styles — Moving from big box style gyms ( large chains–such as where K and A teach) to smaller, studio based settings. Personal training is now accessible for many budgets and people;
- Using small, portable and functional equipment that allows for various ranges of movement versus relying solely on giant chrome machines;
- Participating in Metabolic style workouts that are intense and focus on strength and overall body movements. These fast, efficient workouts burn calories, build strength and blast fat by triggering hormonal release in our bodies that stokes metabolism and muscle growth;
- Counting on Group exercise more and more for camaraderie and accountability;
- Turning to Goal-oriented event training such as triathlons and marathons;
- Using more Technology–mobile workout apps, IDEA Fitness Connect, videos, texts.
