[HTML1] This week Dr. Gracer interviews Gail Simmons, a regular judge on the hit TV show, Top Chef and the host of her own show, Just Desserts, and Leni Felton, Certified Clinical Nutritionist.

Following this interview, Dr Gracer interviews Leni Felton, who is a part of the Gracer Medical Group.  She evaluates our patients for underlying nutritional problems that can cause disease and which certainly must be corrected for optimal clinical results and health. She explains why the skin’s function they might be detected, including current food allergy tests.

More about Gail Simmons
Gail Simmons is a trained culinary expert, food writer and dynamic television personality. Since the show’s inception in 2006, she has lent her extensive expertise as a permanent judge on Bravo’s 2010 Emmy- winning hit series Top Chef. Now in its eighth successful season, Top Chef is rated the #1 Food Show on cable television. Most recently, Gail became the host of Top Chef: Just Desserts, Bravo’s pastry- focused spin-off of the Top Chef franchise, the second season of which will air in late 2011. Gail is also a judge on Top Chef Masters.

Gail joined Food and Wine Magazine in 2004 and directs special projects for the magazine, acting as liaison between the marketing and editorial teams on magazine events and chef-related initiatives, working closely with the country’s top culinary talent. Prior to joining Food & Wine, Gail was the special events manager for Chef Daniel Boulud’s restaurant empire.

Gail was born in Toronto, Canada and moved to New York City in 1999 to attend culinary school at what is now the Institute of Culinary Education. She then trained in the kitchens of legendary Le Cirque 2000 and groundbreaking Vong restaurants, and worked for esteemed food critic Jeffrey Steingarten at Vogue. Throughout her career, Gail has contributed to several cookbooks, including It Must’ve Been Something I Ate by Jeffrey Steingarten, Chef Daniel Boulud: Cooking in New York City and The New American Chef, by Andrew Dornenburg and Karen Page. Gail’s first book, her very own memoir titled Talking With My Mouth Full, is being published by Hyperion and will be released in early 2012.

Gail currently lives in New York City with her husband, Jeremy.

More about Leni Felton
Leni Felton (Right) is a nutritionist, certified by the Clinical Nutrition Certification Board. She has been in practice since 1995 and is a professional member of the International and American Associations of Clinical Nutritionists. She is the staff nutritionist at Gracer Medical Group where she sees many of the pain and addiction patients, who almost always have serious nutritional deficiencies. Every program that she creates is individualized and reflects her underlying philosophy: “cleanse, build, and balance”.

Leni credits two pivotal experiences for her decision to enter her field: the death of her father at 52 years old following four years of debilitating panic attacks that defied treatment, and later her research and development of a program to help a close friend beat lymphoma.

Today, Leni is an integral team member at the Gracer Medical Group where she helps patients rebuild their bodies to fight their problems more effectively and restore their health.
