Discover the enchanting voice and music of songstress Maia Oden on her first CD
Hidden Queen: Songs for Transformation.

This music is dedicated to the Creative Source from which it came, that which continually creates us and creates with us. Often referred to as the Mother of all Things or God, this Source is genderless in It’s reality, yet it manifests Itself through the opposite forces found in all the forms we experience. With gratitude, I bow to that Source and give thanks for the opportunity to share these gifts, so freely given to me.~ Maia Oden

Maia Oden’s CD, Hidden Queen: Songs for Transformation, is a calling out to every woman to uncover and behold her hidden strengths and intuitive powers, to value that which is not easily seen but can be heard from within, a salute to the beauty in every woman.

Maia was born in south-central Texas and raised there as well as in Oklahoma and Tennessee.  After college, she did a houdini act to get out of the south, as she was drawn to places that reflected more her yearnings for magical experiences, shared love of nature and the Goddess.

Since a child, songstress Maia Oden has drawn on the healing energies of the Earth for her inspiration. Whether dreaming in the meadows, dancing in the living room, singing out loud or playing unknown melodies on the piano she somehow knew to credit the elements and Source for all she was experiencing.

Growing up she sang in choir and in a  band while in college, also leading music in a local church. As an adult she has been a part of an all women’s African rhythm based group called “Fana” in Taos, New Mexico. Later, also in Taos, she joined a four-piece Celtic music group called “Bran Trianna”.

Her spontaneous experiences in Boulder, Colorado playing on the Pearl Street mall, coupled with the birth of her son, Sam, in 1997, began her song-writing stint which continues on today. Now, the trees, hills, mountains, seasons, sun and winds of central Virginia inspire her to keep moving in the direction of Spirit’s leading, in addition to the smiles and trials of the people she meets along the Way.

Hidden Queen: Songs for Transformation was produced by Jeff Romano and is Maia’s first CD. Maia Oden is planning a second within the next five years, a children’s album called “Little Drops of Love from a Jeweled Sky”.

“Maia Oden’s new CD Hidden Queen is one that all lovers of Goddess-oriented music will want to have for their libraries. The songs range from slow & hypnotic to the soft dance rhythms with entrancing lyrics – beautiful harmonies and instrumentation compliment each track and the restrained use of guitar, flute and percussion gives fullness to the songs.”  Mother Goddess
