Walking in My Sister’s Shoes

 “inspiring action for peace”

At the time of this interview, Karambu was preparing to leave for Kenya where she would spend July working on the Amani Community Home for kids orphaned by AIDS. She was taking a group of eight people to work with her. The construction had been started and  her hope was to complete the first phase in 2006.

They will took a Cultural Tour for Peace with the group of eight. They plan to camp with a community of Samburu women who had created a women’s village after so many of their husbands, fathers and sons were murdered. Karambu’s organization is supporting them with school materials and construction of a school for their kids

Peace is about being in all situations, even difficult ones, with calm

Addressing challenges of war, poverty, disease are opportunities.
