More about Diane
Diane is a poet, writer, actor and speak and will need all of her skills in her latest endeavor, running for the Congressional seat in Alaska. She has produced and performed multiple stage works, most notably, “When My Spirit Raised Its Hands: the story of [Tlingit Indian leader] Elizabeth Peratrovich and Alaskan Civil Rights” that she continually tours (and is now contributing to a PBS documentary).
Her popular chapbook, “One Native Woman’s Poetry Manifesto” compliments her latest one-woman production, “Voicing Tribal Women” that was well received in Washington D.C., March 2006, at the National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI). Diane also appears in various film, radio and television productions. Diane serves on the Healing Racism Steering Committee and is President of the Alaska Native Sisterhood, Camp 87, Anchorage and brings her commitment to integrity, common sense, dignity, diplomacy, and fair-mindedness into her campaign.
